L'EXTRAORDINAIRE PHOTOGRAPHIE DE PROVAND ET SHIRA

Nous sommes par une belle après-midi en ce 19 Septembre 1936, à Raynham Hall, dans le Norfolk au Royaume-Uni. Deux photographes, Mrs Provand et Indre Shira,  qui avaient décidés de prendre quelques clichés de cette superbe demeure, à l'aide d'une fusée au  magnésium, ne seront pas près d'oublier ce qu'ils verront et photographieront.

Il est 16 heure de l'après midi, ils viennent de prendre une photo du grand escalier de chêne, quand Indre Shira voit une forme brumeuse le descendre. Alors il alerte le capitaine Provand pour qu'il prenne vite une photo, ce dernier, à tout juste le temps de passer la tête sous le tissu protecteur, et de prendre cette photographie qui fera alors le tour du monde. Il faut noter que Provand n'avait pour sa part rien vu...

La photo une fois développée montre une femme en capuchon, qui descend l'escalier. La photo originale sera publiée le 16 Décembre 1936. 

C'est à ce jour, l'un des rare cliché, exempt de trucage, et qui fut authentifié par plusieurs spécialistes des photos, et à différentes époques depuis.

On a rapproché ce spectre avec Lady Dorothy Walpole, soeur de Robert Walpole qui fut premier ministre britannique en 1722. L'histoire locale nous apprend qu'elle tomba amoureuse du deuxième vicomte de Townshend de Raynham, qui après bien des problèmes elle réussit à épouser. Elle serait mort à l'âge de 40 ans le 29 Mars 1726, de la variole. Mais la légende indique qu'elle fut précipitée du haut de l'escalier de chêne.

Plusieurs personnes ont vu depuis son fantôme dans l'escalier de chêne. En 1800 le colonel Loftus  et son ami Hawkins ont vu également l'apparition.  Un romancier le vit également en 1835.

Il a été signalé également la présence d'autres spectres, celui du Duc de Mommouth, deux enfants fantomatiques, et le fantôme d'un épagneul.  Mais le plus intéressant reste cette photo, prise le 19 Septembre 1936 démontrant clairement, par son authenticité, la présence de phénomènes inconnus, dans certaines maisons.

We are by a beautiful afternoon in this 19 September 1936, in Raynham Hall, in Norfolk in the United Kingdom. Two photographers, Mrs Provand and Indre Shira, which had decided to take some stereotypes of this superb residence, using a rocket with magnesium, will not be close forgetting what they will see and photograph.
 It is 4 p.m. of after midday, they has just taken a photograph of the large staircase of oak, when Indre Shira sees a misty form descending it. Then it alerts the Provand captain so that it takes quickly a photograph, this last, at just time to pass the head under protective fabric, and to take this photography which will make the turn of the world then. It should be noted that Provand did not have for its part anything considering... The photograph developed once shows a woman out of cap, which descends the staircase.
 The original photograph will be published on December 16, 1936. It is to date, one of the rare stereotype, free from faking, and which was authenticated by several specialists in the photographs, and at various times since. One brought closer this spectrum with Lady Dorothy Walpole, sister of Robert Walpole who was British a Prime Minister in 1722.
 The local history teaches us that it fell in love with the second Viscount from Townshend de Raynham, which afterwards many problems it succeeds in marrying. It would have died at the 40 years age 29 the Mars 1726, of variola. But the legend indicates that it was precipitated top of the staircase of oak. Several people saw since her phantom in the staircase of oak. In 1800 colonel Loftus and his friend Hawkins also saw the appearance. A novelist also saw it in 1835. He was also announced the presence of other spectra, that of the Duke of Mommouth, two ghostly children, and the phantom of a spaniel. But the most interesting remainder this photograph, catch on 19 September 1936 clearly showing, by its authenticity, the presence of unknown phenomena, in certain houses.
